Türk-İş has announced the July results of its hunger and poverty threshold research. According to the research, the 'hunger threshold,' which represents the amount of food expenditure required for a family of 4 to have a healthy, balanced, and adequate diet, rose to 19 thousand 234 liras in July.

Thus, the hunger threshold occurred 2 thousand 232 liras above the minimum wage.

The 'poverty threshold,' which corresponds to the total amount of mandatory expenditures for food as well as clothing, housing, transportation, education, health, and similar needs, rose to 62 thousand 653 liras.

According to the research, the cost of living for a single employee rose to 24 thousand 902 liras.

The minimum expenditure amount that a family of four living in Ankara must make for food increased by 1.35 percent compared to the previous month. The rate of change for the last 12 months was calculated as 64.99 percent. The annual change in kitchen inflation was 81.16 percent.
