Modern Çikolata enters temporary concordat process

Modern Çikolata Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., which operates in Karaman and is part of Tayyar Yatırım, has initiated legal proceedings in response to recent economic difficulties. The Karaman 1st Civil Court of First Instance accepted the company's application in a decision dated June 27, 2025, granting a three-month temporary concordat period valid until September 26, 2025.

To ensure the process functions properly, the court has appointed a three-member commission to provide oversight and supervision.

During the temporary concordat period, Modern Çikolata will have the opportunity to restructure its existing debts; this is aimed at restoring financial stability for the company.

Modern Çikolata, which holds a significant position in the sector with an annual production capacity of approximately 140 thousand tons, manufactures more than 300 products across seven main categories, including biscuits, crackers, cakes, and wafers, at its factory in the Karaman Organized Industrial Zone.

Tayyar Yatırım, which was involved in joint projects with Ülker for a period from 1999 to 2014, later decided to continue its operations under the "Modern Çikolata" brand. With this latest concordat step, it appears the company has entered a new restructuring process to remain viable in the market and alleviate its debt burden.
