A new development has occurred in the resistance led by İmbat Mining workers in the Soma district of Manisa regarding their unpaid salaries and accumulated labor receivables. Nazmi Gürleyen, the Aegean Regional Branch President of the Mining Workers' Union of Turkey, announced that approval has been granted for the payment of the workers' receivables.
Addressing the miners at the resistance site in Kırkağaç Grove, Gürleyen stated that following negotiations with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the process for paying September salaries and retroactive receivables has been initiated.
Gürleyen expressed that the payments are expected to be deposited into the workers' accounts today, and if the transactions are not completed in time, all receivables will be paid on Monday.
The announcement was met with applause by the miners, who have been in resistance for their receivables for approximately 10 days. The workers stated that they find the development positive but will continue their wait until their rights are transferred to their accounts.
The miners also emphasized that they will continue their struggle to ensure the mine is reopened and that no worker remains unemployed. In the statements made at the resistance site, it was expressed that while the payment approval is an important step, the process will not be considered complete until the actual payment takes place.
