Price hike for mobile phone tariffs
The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) has updated the Maximum Fee tariff schedule for Mobile Communication Services. Accordingly, the new maximum fee tariff for mobile communication services, which came into effect on April 1, 2024, has been increased by 65 percent annually.

According to the renewed prices, there has been an increase of up to 28 percent in tariff prices that were introduced six months ago. The annual increase rate has reached 65 percent.
According to the report in Ekonomim; under the new fee schedule, the per-minute rate for domestic calls has been set at 3 Turkish Lira and 12 kuruş, while the per-minute rate for international calls has been set at 31 Turkish Lira and 35 kuruş.
The highest-priced service was 'Number change'. The number change service fee was increased to 136.52 Turkish Lira. While the line transfer fee was raised to 59.83 Turkish Lira, the price for name and title changes became 40.86 Turkish Lira.
UNREGISTERED USAGE PERIOD EXTENDED
A price of 4 Turkish Lira and 9 kuruş was set for each detail page sent with invoices. SMS fees became 2 Turkish Lira and 23 kuruş for domestic and 5 Turkish Lira and 51 kuruş for international. The per-minute cost for calling unknown numbers became 8 Turkish Lira and 84 kuruş.
The period for unregistered use of mobile phones brought by those residing abroad can be extended.
For devices brought by citizens residing abroad, the 120-day unregistered device usage period can be extended up to 180 days, twice for thirty-day periods, via the e-Government Gateway.
