Sharp rise in gold and silver

The rise of gold prices to over 4,700 dollars per ounce and silver prices to the 94.40 dollar level has revealed that global markets have entered an unconventional phase. According to experts, this rise is considered not just a price increase, but an indicator of a loss of confidence in the global economic and financial system.

Sharp rise in gold and silver

DEMAŞ A.Ş. Chairman of the Board Ahmet Cumhur Kitiş stated that the rise in precious metals cannot be explained by classical market dynamics, emphasizing that the change in gold and silver is not a temporary fluctuation but the result of the global system pricing its own fragility. Expressing that there are many powerful factors behind the sharp rises in gold and silver recently, Kitiş said that increasing geopolitical risks, changes in central bank reserve policies, uncertainties regarding the future of the dollar, and the persistence of inflation are driving investors toward safe havens. He pointed out that in this process, precious metals have become not just an investment tool, but a protective element against systemic risks.

"Markets are no longer buying today, but the approaching risks"

Emphasizing that current price levels differ from short-term rises in past periods, Kitiş said, "The levels reached in gold and silver today clearly diverge from the short-term rally periods of the past. While previous rises were generally triggered by interest rate decisions or limited crises, current pricing is based on the weakening of confidence in the global financial system. Markets are no longer buying today, but the approaching risks. Another element that has drawn attention recently is the significant increase in demand for physical gold and silver."

Stating that there is also a remarkable potential for a rise on the silver front, but that this movement is progressing on a more speculative ground compared to gold, Kitiş said, "Gold and silver should be evaluated as a means of preserving purchasing power rather than for speculative gains. The figures we are talking about today are not a peak, but the threshold of a new era. Precious metals will continue to be a safe haven for patient and conscious investors in the coming period as well."
