Temu representatives summoned to the Ministry of Trade

At the meeting held at the Ministry of Trade, the regulations that Temu must comply with since its entry into the Turkish market were discussed. Ministry officials reminded Temu of its legal obligations, particularly regarding product safety and consumer complaints. It was emphasized that Temu must take the necessary steps within the framework of the regulation that came into effect on April 1.

Temu officials stated that they are continuing infrastructure work necessary to conduct sales in Turkey and that sellers who do not provide the information required by the regulation will not be allowed on the platform. They also expressed that they are taking initiatives to open a representative office in Turkey and are working to assume responsibility for the products offered to the market.

MUST BE REMOVED WITHIN 24 HOURS

At the meeting, it was stated that unsafe and inappropriate products must be removed from the platform within 24 hours upon the request of the authorized institution. In this context, it was emphasized that Temu's Product Safety Contact Point must work actively. Temu officials expressed that they are making intensive efforts to comply with the regulation and are aware of the sanctions they may face in case of possible non-compliance.

The regulation mandates the inclusion of economic operator information for every product and the closing of product safety gaps. Otherwise, it is stated that severe sanctions may be applied to the platform.
