The date has been set: Gasoline price hike follows diesel
Following the 2.92 TL increase in diesel, a 2.74 TL hike is expected for gasoline. The increase is projected to be reflected at the pump on Tuesday.
The upward trend in fuel prices continues. Following the 2 lira 92 kuruş increase applied to diesel on Saturday, August 22, a new price hike is now expected for gasoline.
According to information obtained from industry sources, a price increase of 2 lira 74 kuruş per liter of gasoline is projected. The expected price update is anticipated to be reflected at the pump as of 00:01 on the night connecting Monday, August 24, to Tuesday, August 25.
If the hike takes effect, the price per liter of gasoline will rise to 74.13 TL in Istanbul, 75.25 TL in Ankara, and 75.55 TL in Izmir. Pump prices may show limited variations depending on distribution companies and free market conditions at the provincial and district levels.
Prior to the expected gasoline hike, diesel prices had also risen. With the latest increase, the price per liter of diesel reached 82.58 TL in Istanbul, 83.83 TL in Ankara, and 84.12 TL in Izmir.
The upward pressure on fuel prices is driven by the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil exceeding 90 dollars, volatility in international product prices, and fluctuations in exchange rates.
