Warning for credit card debtors: Last 3 days
Time is running out for citizens who want to restructure their credit card and personal loan debts. The deadline for the restructuring process initiated by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK) has been announced as October 10, 2025.
The application period for the restructuring regulation, which covers July 10, 2025, and earlier, was set at 3 months. With only 3 days left until the end of the process, experts have issued another call to debtors.
According to the restructuring plan, individual credit card and personal loan debts can be paid in installments of up to 48 months. The interest rate will be applied at the 3.11 percent level determined by the Central Bank.
SCOPE EXPANDED
With the new regulation, not only cards for which the minimum amount has not been paid, but all individual credit cards for which the periodic debt has been partially or fully unpaid have been included in the scope of restructuring. While previously only "delays exceeding 30 days" were restructured for personal loans, now any type of late payment can be restructured.
Furthermore, the debt balance will now be calculated based on the date of restructuring rather than the date of the decision. Even if there is no delay, previously restructured loans can be included in the scope of re-restructuring.
CRITICAL WARNING FROM EXPERTS
All individual credit cards for which the periodic debt has been partially or fully unpaid have been included in the scope of restructuring.
Experts advise citizens who are struggling to pay off their debts to take advantage of this opportunity. It is stated that it would be beneficial for those who want to regularize their payments to create a long-term installment plan.
Otherwise, in the event of only making the minimum payment or making no payment at all, citizens will face the risk of default, a drop in their credit score, and the burden of high interest.
