Weekly performance of investment instruments
Stocks traded on Borsa Istanbul gained an average of 4.69 percent on a weekly basis, while gold bullion rose by 1.43 percent, the dollar/TL exchange rate by 0.85 percent, and the euro/TL exchange rate by 1.18 percent.
The BIST 100 index, after seeing a low of 7,667.85 and a high of 8,081.69 points, completed the week at 7,986.47 points, gaining 4.69 percent compared to the previous week's close.
The gram selling price of 24-karat gold bullion traded in the Grand Bazaar rose by 1.43 percent this week to 1,992 liras, while the selling price of Republic gold increased by 1.39 percent to 13 thousand 385 liras.
STOCKS PERFORMED BEST
The selling price of quarter gold, which was 3 thousand 232 liras last weekend, rose to 3 thousand 277 liras.
This week, the US dollar gained 0.85 percent to reach 30.0950 liras, and the euro rose by 1.18 percent to 33.0170 liras.
Investment funds gained 1.74 percent and individual pension funds gained 2.21 percent this week.
When viewed by category, the best-performing investment funds were "Stock" funds with a gain of 4.77 percent.
