What worries Turkey the most? Inflation concerns stand out

The Ipsos research company's survey titled "What Worries the World?" has been published. Approximately 25 thousand people were asked about their concerns and their views on the direction of their countries via an online system. The survey was conducted between January 26 and February 9. 

ON THE WRONG TRACK

In Turkey, to the question "Would you say things in this country are heading in the right direction, or are they off on the wrong track?", 73 percent of the survey participants answered "off on the wrong track."

The issue of most concern in Turkey was inflation, with a rate of 50 percent. Poverty and social inequality ranked second with a rate of 30 percent.

While 22 percent of the survey participants said they were concerned about crime and violence rates in Turkey, 22 percent expressed concerns about unemployment, and 21 percent expressed concerns about financial and political corruption.

The rate of those who find global warming worrying in Turkey was only 5 percent. It was noted that while this rate is higher in many other European countries, it remains extremely low in Turkey.

Other notable topics in the responses to the survey were related to foreign policy and security. In response to the question "Are you concerned about your country being involved in a military conflict?", only 2 percent of the respondents answered that they were concerned about this issue.

TURKEY FOLLOWS ISRAEL

In the survey reported by DW Turkish, while Israel was the country where concerns about terrorism were highest, it was followed by Turkey. 20 percent of the survey participants in Turkey expressed that they were concerned about terrorism.

In Ipsos's monthly Global Consumer Confidence survey, citizens were asked how they evaluate the current economic environment in their countries.

In Turkey, to the question "How would you describe the current economic situation in your country?", 74 percent of the survey participants answered "bad."
