Which investment vehicle performed best this week? Gains in stocks, foreign currency, and funds
Stocks on Borsa Istanbul, gold, and foreign exchange rates closed the week with gains. The BIST 100 index rose by 2.67 percent, while both the dollar and the Euro also increased in value.
The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul recovered from its weekly low of 10,413.24 points, reached a high of 10,783.10 points, and finished the week with a 2.67 percent increase at 10,642.60 points.
In the Grand Bazaar, the gram price of 24-karat gold bullion rose by 0.07 percent to 4,359.77 Turkish Lira. Republic gold also showed the same rate of increase, finding buyers at 29,460 Turkish Lira. The selling price of quarter gold increased by 0.08 percent to 7,302 Turkish Lira.
There was also activity in foreign exchange rates. The US dollar increased by 0.43 percent to 40.5550 Turkish Lira, while the Euro rose by 0.92 percent to 47.5880 Turkish Lira.
Investment funds gained 1.69 percent this week, while pension funds gained 1.73 percent. Among investment funds, the best performers were "Stock Exchange Investment" funds with a 2.58 percent gain.
