Destination Sivas: A case of 'tailor-made' academic staffing...
Another instance of 'tailor-made' and personalized academic job postings has emerged, this time at Sivas Cumhuriyet University.
A new addition has been made to the list of personalized job postings. In these advertisements, the titles of the candidates' specific research works were almost explicitly written out.
According to a report by Berkay Sağol from BirGün; Sivas Cumhuriyet University announced the recruitment of professors, associate professors, and assistant professors by publishing a notice in the Official Gazette. The associate professor position opened for the Faculty of Theology, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Division of Psychology of Religion, required candidates to have “worked on faith development in children, female religiosity, and psychological well-being.”
H.A.Ç., who meets the requirements of the posting, has a master's thesis titled “Faith development of primary school children: A psycho-theological approach.” It was learned that H.A.Ç.’s doctoral thesis is titled “Forms of religiosity, religious coping activities, and psychological well-being among women attending Quran courses.”
TAILOR-MADE STAFFING
For the other associate professor position to be filled in the Faculty of Theology, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Division of Psychology of Religion, the requirement was to have “worked on the psychology of death in children, existential psychology, and religion.” The doctoral thesis of S.Y., who meets these requirements, is titled “The phenomenon of death in the cognitive and religious development of children.” S.Y. also has a book titled “Existential Anxiety and Religion in Irvin D. Yalom’s Psychotherapy Approach.”
The associate professor posting opened for the Trakya University Uzunköprü School of Applied Sciences, Department of Management Information Systems, required candidates to have “received the title of Associate Professor in the field of marketing science/art, and to have conducted studies on boycott behavior and online activism.”
P.Y.K., who meets the requirements, has studies titled, in English, “The role of consumer ethnocentrism in boycott behavior: What if a local business acts excessively?” and “The Effects of Social Media Engagement on Social Benefits and Behavioral Intentions: The Case of Online Events.”
