Istanbul's dams are sounding the alarm
According to İSKİ data, the occupancy rate of the dams supplying water to Istanbul has fallen to 59.92 percent. The rate, which was 82.93 percent on April 22, has shown a rapid decline over the last three months. The lowest level was measured at the Istrancalar Dam at 28.84 percent.

With insufficient rainfall, water levels in the dams have begun to recede.
According to data from the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the average occupancy rate of dams in the megacity was 82.93 percent on April 22, while according to today's data, it has reached 59.92 percent.
The highest water level in the dams was recorded at the Elmalı Dam at 75.67 percent, while the lowest water level was recorded at the Istrancalar Dam at 28.84 percent.
According to İSKİ data, as of July 15, the dam occupancy rates in Istanbul are as follows:
• Alibey Dam 43.34 percent
• Büyükçekmece Dam 56.47 percent
• Darlık Dam 68.7 percent
• Elmalı Dam 75.67 percent
• Istrancalar Dam 28.84 percent
Kazandere Dam 54.17 percent
• Pabuçdere Dam 55.61 percent
• Sazlıdere Dam 46.56 percent
• Terkos Dam 63.5 percent
• Ömerli Dam 63.64 percent
