The famous actor who will play Putin has been revealed!

52-year-old British actor Jude Law will portray Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He will star in the film titled The Wizard of the Kremlin, which is adapted from Giuliano da Empoli’s best-selling novel of the same name.

According to a report by Deadline, Olivier Assayas will sit in the director's chair for the film.

The film focuses on the events that took place in Russia following the collapse of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.

In a statement regarding the film, Law said the following:

“I say this with hesitation because I haven't started working on the film yet. I mean, I have, but right now it looks like an Everest to climb. I’m looking up from the foothills of the mountain and thinking, ‘Oh my God, what have I said?’ That’s usually how I feel when I say yes. I say, ‘Oh my God, how am I going to do this?’ Anyway, it’s up to me to figure it out.”

The Wizard of the Kremlin covers Russia's restructuring process following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the 1990s.

The novel reveals the critical events of the era and the behind-the-scenes lives of its leaders amidst political and social turmoil. The performance of the master actor is eagerly awaited in this project where Jude Law will bring the character of Putin to life.
