Wanted with a Red Notice in Russia, captured in Antalya
Six people were captured in operations conducted across several districts of Antalya for the crimes of "establishing an organization, bribery, and illegal tobacco smuggling." It was revealed that one of the individuals captured was wanted in Russia with a Red Notice.
Six suspects were captured in anti-smuggling and organized crime operations carried out in some districts of Antalya, such as Muratpaşa and Kepez.
A statement was made regarding the operations conducted across the province by the Antalya Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch over the last week.
It was revealed that one of the wanted individuals was sought in Russia for fraud and had a 13-year and 3-month prison sentence.
In the operations carried out in the Kepez, Muratpaşa, Alanya, and Manavgat districts, 162 thousand empty/filled macaroons, 1,490 packs of smuggled cigarettes, 652 liters of smuggled alcohol, 17 smuggled electronic cigarettes, and 5 kilograms of smuggled tobacco were seized during searches of workplaces, warehouses, and residences.
Accordingly, while judicial proceedings were initiated against 4 suspects for the crime of 'Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing a Crime', 2 pistols, 3 shotguns, and 51 pistol cartridges were seized during the searches.
While judicial proceedings were initiated against 2 individuals for the crime of 'Bribery', proceedings were carried out against 9 suspects for the crime of 'Violation of Law No. 5607'.
The individual wanted in Russia with a Red Notice was handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management's Removal Center, while 5 individuals were sent to prison.
