In Ereğli, Zonguldak, a mining engineer wanted to give a rose to a woman he did not know, but when he was rejected, he brandished a knife. The engineer, who was taken into custody after the incident, was released.
Y.Y. (49), who was out for a morning walk in the Orhanlar neighborhood of Ereğli district, was followed by mining engineer E.İ. (24) who approached her. E.İ. wanted to give Y.Y. a rose, but the offer was turned down. Continuing his persistent behavior, E.İ. pulled a knife from his bag and showed it to Y.Y. after the woman rejected him again.
Fearing for her safety, Y.Y. immediately called the police to request assistance. Police teams arriving at the scene took E.İ. into custody, and a search of his bag revealed four knives. In his statement to the police, E.İ. claimed he had no ill intentions and only wanted to be friends. He was released after his statement was taken.
