Wanted with a red notice: Captured in Istanbul
36-year-old M.D., who was wanted in Algeria for drug trafficking and membership in a criminal organization, was captured in an operation in Fatih, Istanbul.
It has been reported that M.D., who was sentenced to 20 years in prison by Algerian judicial authorities for the crimes of "Drug Trafficking and Membership in a Criminal Organization," has been captured in Istanbul. It was stated that there was a red notice issued for the 36-year-old M.D.
Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch identified that M.D. was in Istanbul as part of their efforts targeting suspects wanted at an international level.
Following the identification, technical and physical surveillance was conducted to determine the suspect's address. After the surveillance process was completed, an operation was carried out in Fatih, and M.D. was taken into custody.

Having completed the procedures at the police station, M.D. was handed over to a Removal Center as part of the judicial process conducted against him.

It was stated that the conviction decision regarding M.D. was issued by the Algerian judiciary. No information was shared regarding when the suspect entered Turkey or how the subsequent judicial process will proceed.
