The Istanbul Governor's Office has issued repeated warnings regarding the storm and dust transport expected in and around Istanbul. The storm is expected to begin on Friday morning and lose its effect by Saturday afternoon.
According to the warnings issued by the Governor's Office based on meteorological forecasts, the wind in the Marmara region is expected to blow as a storm from the east and northeast starting Friday afternoon, and lose its effect by Saturday afternoon.
Dust transport will also be observed in and around Istanbul on Friday. According to forecasts, the expected dust transport will end on Sunday morning.
METEOROLOGY ISSUED INDIVIDUAL WARNINGS
According to the warning from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the wind is expected to blow from the north and northeast as strong (40-60 km/h) and as a storm in high areas (60-80 km/h) in areas outside of Istanbul, including Kırklareli, Tekirdağ, Edirne, Çanakkale, and Balıkesir, as well as the northern parts of İzmir, starting from Friday morning. In the surroundings of Antalya, Burdur, Isparta, and Muğla, it is expected to blow from the south and southeast as strong and short-term storms (40-60 km/h, gusting to 70 km/h). The strong wind and storm are expected to lose their effect in the Marmara and North Aegean regions after Saturday afternoon, and in the Western Mediterranean after Friday evening. Caution and precautions should be taken against negative consequences such as disruptions in transportation, falling trees and poles, and roof damage.
IT WILL LOSE ITS EFFECT ON SATURDAY
Another warning was issued for the seas. According to the Meteorology, the wind in the Western Black Sea, Marmara, North Aegean, South Aegean, and Western Mediterranean is expected to blow as a storm at force 6 to 8 (50-75 km/h) from the north, east, and northeast on Friday morning and afternoon. The storm is expected to lose its effect gradually from Friday midnight towards Saturday afternoon.
