Turkish Classical Music artist Umut Akyürek had previously called for help on her social media account, revealing that her daughter was using illicit substances.

Akyürek had announced that her daughter's struggle was going well. Most recently, Akyürek shared a video of her daughter.

Akyürek stated that her daughter, Melek Bal Ertuğrul, had psychological problems and was having crises, noting in her statement that she was afraid of the possibility that she might harm herself or someone else.

Following Akyürek, who explained her daughter Melek Bal's problems and said she had called the police, a post showing handcuffs came from Melek Bal herself, and the razor marks on the young girl's arm did not go unnoticed.
