Important message from Robert De Niro to Trump during Pope visit
Actor Robert De Niro congratulated newly elected politician Zohran Mamdani in New York and directed harsh criticism at US President Donald Trump. De Niro described Mamdani's election by saying, "It is time to take our country back."
Attending a ceremony held in Rome, the capital of Italy, De Niro was honored with the city's highest award, the "Lupa Capitolina." In his speech at the ceremony, he said, "My family is of Italian descent; this award holds a very special meaning for me."
Emphasizing Mamdani's youth and energy, De Niro stated, "He is one of the people who can stand up to Trump." The famous actor noted that the country had been "pushed into despair and division" during the Trump era, and delivered the message, "Now is the time for change."
