Barış Murat Yağcı had announced the death of his mother, Arzu Ernak, last year through a post on his social media account, stating, "Our painful loss... We are deeply saddened to have lost our precious mother, Arzu Ernak, today at the hospital where she was receiving treatment."

Additionally, famous actress Birce Akalay had announced on her social media account that the late Arzu Ernak was her aunt. Akalay wrote, "We have lost my dear and beloved aunt, Arzu Akalay Ernak.
