Who is Ali Ender Çolak, who resigned as General Manager of İGDAŞ?

Ali Ender Çolak, General Manager of İGDAŞ, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), has resigned from his position, citing health issues. Çolak, who served as CEO of Baymak for many years, became the second high-level executive to resign from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB). 

WHO IS ALİ ENDER ÇOLAK? 

Ali Ender Çolak began his career at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey, where he held significant positions between 1989 and 2008, including expert, head of department, and finally, Vice Chairman of the Board. During this period, Çolak led important processes such as the Private Pension System and Corporate Governance Principles, and also served on the OECD Corporate Governance Steering Committee and Advisory Boards. He also co-chaired the Twinning Project, which contributed to the harmonization process of capital markets with the European Union.

Serving as Vice President responsible for Finance and Renewable Energy at Anel Group between 2008 and 2011, Ender Çolak served as the CEO of Baymak and BDR Thermea Group from 2011 to 2023.

Çolak completed his undergraduate education at the Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences and earned his master's degree in the United States, receiving a Master of International Management diploma from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. In addition, he has completed prestigious training programs such as the Toronto Centre Leadership Program, IFC Housing Finance Program, World Bank Contractual Savings Program, NACD Director Professionalism Program, and the Wharton School Corporate Governance Program.

Having delivered speeches at many national and international conferences in the fields of Capital Markets, Energy, Corporate Governance, and Sustainability, Ender Çolak is also a member of the National Paralympic Committee of Turkey.
