5 people hospitalized after pesticide spraying at Viticulture Institute in Tekirdağ
Five people showing symptoms of poisoning following a pesticide application at the Tekirdağ Viticulture Research Institute have been hospitalized and are receiving treatment. An administrative investigation has been launched into the incident.
According to the information obtained, it was reported that after pesticide spraying was conducted on the institution's grounds against pests and diseases, 5 employees showed symptoms of poisoning and were immediately transferred to the Tekirdağ İsmail Fehmi Cumalıoğlu City Hospital.
In a statement made by the Tekirdağ Viticulture Research Institute, it was noted that posts made on some social media accounts did not reflect the truth, stating, "The individuals showing symptoms of poisoning were immediately taken to the hospital by the institution.
An administrative investigation was launched into the incident on the same day. The department head responsible for the management and supervision of workers at our institute has been removed from their post. Following the completion of the investigation, necessary administrative actions will be taken against those who have negligence or fault. We extend our best wishes for a speedy recovery to our colleagues who fell ill and to our institute," the statement said.
It was learned that the process regarding the incident is being followed meticulously and that the health status of the individuals is good.
