The incident occurred around 17:00 on Şair Baki Street in the Altıntepsi neighborhood of Bayrampaşa. According to the information obtained, a balcony on the first floor of a three-story building partially collapsed.

At that moment, Aytaç Uçar and his mother Nazmiye Uçar, who were sitting on the floor above, panicked upon hearing the noise. Seeing that the balcony had collapsed when they looked down, the mother and son rushed outside in a desperate attempt to save themselves.

Nazmiye Uçar, who experienced great fear, could not hold back her tears. Upon the notification of those around, fire and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The teams took extensive security measures in the area. While there were no deaths or injuries in the incident, the building was evacuated for inspections.

"THERE IS A SHIFT IN THE BUILDING'S FOUNDATION"

Homeowner Aytaç Uçar said, “While we were sitting, the balcony suddenly started to collapse. The balcony at the back of the building collapsed. Our building was built at the end of 1975, beginning of 1976. They came and looked before; no problems emerged after the earthquake that occurred. What happened, happened after the construction in front was built. There is a shift of 6-7 fingers in the building's foundation. I called engineers to take a look. The people from the municipality neither sent personnel nor looked at whether there was anything else. They just came and applied some plaster there; they didn't do anything else.”

The homeowner's mother, Nazmiye Uçar, who could not hold back her tears, said, “We were sitting on the balcony on the upper floor. We just heard the sound. I said, 'Did something happen?' We looked at the balcony; the balcony had collapsed. It wasn't affected by the earthquake; nothing happened to it.”
