The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has issued a new weather warning for the city. According to the weekly forecast report, strong thunderstorms are expected in Istanbul on Wednesday, November 4.
In the city, where spring-like weather has been effective in recent days, it is predicted that air temperatures will decrease significantly with the rainfall. According to AKOM's assessment, temperatures, which have been hovering around 20 degrees, may drop to the 12-14 degree range starting Wednesday.
The forecasts indicate that the drop in temperatures could fall below seasonal norms. Rainfall is expected to continue intermittently across the city until Friday, November 6.
The AKOM report stated that "intermittent showers and locally strong thunderstorms will occur until Friday." The report also noted that temperatures will drop starting Wednesday, falling to the 12-14 degree range.
Officials emphasize the need to be cautious against potential disruptions in traffic and in open areas due to sudden showers and thunderstorm activity.
