Suicide case in Şanlıurfa turns out to be murder

The death of Türkan K. in the Viranşehir district of Şanlıurfa in 2023, which was initially evaluated as a suicide, has been clarified as a result of comprehensive work carried out by police teams.

Following the reopening of the case by the Homicide Bureau of the Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department under the coordination of the Viranşehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, crime scene investigation reports, criminal reports, forensic findings, camera footage, HTS analyses, and witness statements were re-evaluated.

During the investigations, contradictions were found between the suspects' statements and technical data, and strong evidence was reached suggesting that the incident may have been a premeditated murder disguised as a suicide.

While suspects I.K. and S.K., who were taken into custody, were arrested by the judicial authorities, judicial control measures were applied to E.K.

In a statement made by the Ministry of Interior, it was said, "Our police continue to re-examine and solve crimes committed years ago. We congratulate our heroic police officers, our Şanlıurfa Provincial Police Department, our Viranşehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and everyone who contributed."
