Suspected poisoning at Removal Center: 56 people hospitalized
56 foreign nationals at the Gaziantep Removal Center have been hospitalized due to suspected poisoning. While 48 people have been discharged after completing their treatment, it was reported that 8 individuals remain under medical care and are not in life-threatening condition.
After 56 foreign nationals at the Removal Center in Gaziantep's Oğuzeli district showed symptoms of poisoning, numerous medical teams were dispatched to the facility.
The 56 individuals, who received initial intervention from medical teams dispatched to the scene, were transported to various hospitals in the city by ambulance.
Of the foreign nationals treated at the hospitals, 48 have been discharged, while it was learned that 8 remain under treatment and are not in life-threatening condition.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE: 8 PEOPLE REMAIN UNDER TREATMENT
In a statement regarding the matter, the Gaziantep Governor's Office said, "On November 20, 2025, after some foreign nationals at the Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of Migration Management Removal Center reported symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea, the situation was rapidly examined by the Removal Center's health unit and the 112 Emergency Call Center was immediately notified.
Ambulance teams arrived at the center quickly. As a result of the assessments, a total of 56 people were transferred to hospitals. 48 people whose treatments were completed were treated on an outpatient basis on the same day and returned to the removal center as there were no negative developments in their health status.
There is no dangerous situation regarding the health status of the other individuals, but they are being kept under observation as a precaution.
The process is being closely monitored by our Governor's Office and relevant institutions. An investigation into the matter has been initiated," the statement read.
