Uşak Governor's Office issues statement regarding the death of a fugitive convict

Uşak Governor's Office issues statement regarding the death of a fugitive convict

In a statement made by the Uşak Governor's Office via social media, it was stated that C.G. (24), who was wanted for the crimes of "armed robbery" and "deprivation of liberty by using force, threat, or deception," was identified as hiding in the Dikilitaş neighborhood.

It was stated that during an operation conducted by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams in coordination with the Uşak Provincial Security Directorate, a scuffle broke out when the individual refused to surrender to security forces, and that the individual, who was injured during the scuffle, was taken to the hospital but could not be saved despite all interventions. It was reported that judicial and administrative investigations have been launched following the incident and that the process is being conducted meticulously in all its aspects.

The statement made by the Governor's Office regarding the matter included the following: "It was determined that the individual named C.G. (24), who had a finalized prison sentence of 19 years, 15 months, and 10 days for the crimes of 'Armed Robbery' and 'Deprivation of Liberty by Using Force, Threat, or Deception' and had 11 separate criminal records, was hiding at an address in the Dikilitaş neighborhood of the Uşak city center."

"Coordinated with the Uşak Provincial Security Directorate and based on a search warrant obtained from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office under the scope of cases where delay is deemed hazardous, the individual was injured as a result of a scuffle that occurred during his apprehension when he refused to surrender despite all warnings while entering the residence, and he lost his life at the hospital to which he was transferred."

"A judicial and administrative investigation has been launched regarding the incident, and the process is being carried out meticulously by the relevant units. Upon the instructions of our Minister of Interior, Mr. Mustafa Çiftçi, a Chief Civil Inspector and a Gendarmerie General Command Inspector have been assigned to examine the matter in all its aspects."
