Mother and daughter died after being electrocuted in an irrigation canal: Footage has emerged
Security camera footage has emerged of the incident in the Toprakkale district of Osmaniye, where a 6-year-old child and her mother lost their lives after being electrocuted while washing their hands in an irrigation canal.
6-year-old Özlem Üstün was electrocuted while trying to wash her hands in the irrigation canal passing by their home on Şehit Polis Mahmut Ava Street in the Kışla neighborhood of Osmaniye's Toprakkale district.
Her mother, Cennet Üstün (37), who tried to save her daughter, was also electrocuted.
The mother and daughter, who were severely injured, could not be saved despite medical interventions at Toprakkale State Hospital, where they were taken by private vehicle by bystanders.
9 PEOPLE DETAINED
Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, examinations conducted by expert teams at the scene suggested that electrical cables were damaged during excavation work carried out by a natural gas company near the site, creating a leakage of electrical current.
Following this, 9 employees of the natural gas company were detained.
Meanwhile, the moments of the incident that took the mother and daughter from life were captured moment by moment on a security camera.
