Ali Babacan responds to rumors of 'returning to AKP'

DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan has clarified the claims that he would return to the AKP following his appearance at the October 29 Republic Day reception. Babacan emphasized that the reasons for his party's departure from the AKP remain valid.

"OUR REASONS FOR LEAVING ARE STILL VALID TODAY"

Speaking to the Türkiye newspaper, Babacan stated that their departure from the AKP was not based on personal reasons, but on significant issues related to political principles. Babacan expressed the following:

"Our reason for leaving the AK Party was not based on personal reasons. The same justifications are valid today as well. Turkey should never be condemned to a two-polar political system. As is known, I am one of the 73 founders of the AK Party. I still support the founding principles and values of the party today. I would sign the founding program again today. The most important of our reasons for separation is that there has been a departure from those principles."

"CLAIMS THAT I WILL TAKE CHARGE OF THE ECONOMY ARE NOT TRUE"

Babacan categorically denied the rumors that he would "take charge of the economy." Stating that such rumors about him have increased, Babacan said:

"The claims that I will take charge of the economy are not true. We have no such intention or goal. These days, those who assign us roles have increased again. Rumors are a dime a dozen. Those who produce these rumors must first understand this; we aspire to the entire administration of this country. Because we are the most prepared to govern the country."
