Allegations that exam time was changed for Bilal Erdoğan's event
An event organized in Sakarya within the scope of a protocol signed between the Ministry of National Education and TÜGVA has sparked debate in the education sector. According to official correspondence, hundreds of middle school students were directed to the foundation's event during school hours, while a teacher's message revealed that a written exam time was changed due to the program.
Documents that have emerged regarding the TÜGVA Summer Schools Sakarya Launch and Youth Festival held in Sakarya have caused controversy in educational circles. According to an official letter from the Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education, students studying at various public middle schools in the city were taken to the event area during school hours.
In the official correspondence obtained by Ufuk Sepetci from the Cumhuriyet newspaper, it was stated that the organization was carried out within the scope of a protocol signed between the Ministry of National Education and the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA).
THE SCOPE OF THE EVENT WAS EXPLAINED IN THE OFFICIAL LETTER
In the letter prepared by the Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education, it was stated that 5th, 6th, and 7th-grade students studying at public middle schools in the Adapazarı, Arifiye, Erenler, Serdivan, and Sapanca districts would attend the program held at Kentpark.
The letter also included information that a preparatory meeting was planned to be held with school principals, as well as police and health personnel, prior to the event.
PERMISSION SLIPS WERE SENT TO PARENTS
Before the program, permission slips were distributed to the students' parents. The documents requested parental consent for students to attend the youth festival organized by TÜGVA under the supervision of their teachers.
Parents were asked to submit signed documents indicating that they permitted their children to participate in the event to the school.
TEACHER'S MESSAGE DREW ATTENTION
At the center of the discussions regarding the event was a message shared by a teacher with the students.
According to the report by Gazete Pencere, the message stated, "We will attend the TÜGVA youth festival at Kentpark with 600 students from the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades. Therefore, we will hold our written exam during the first period."
The fact that the message mentioned approximately 600 students would attend the event and that the written exam time was rescheduled accordingly drew attention.
