MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli faced questions from journalists regarding the current agenda at a reception held at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Bahçeli was also asked about the ongoing fund investigations and the allegations concerning AKP member Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya. The MHP leader settled for a brief response to this question.
We are not commenting, sir.
Within the scope of the investigation, it was alleged that Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband, İlyas Kaya, had obtained 2.2 billion lira from share transactions. Following the allegations, it was stated that Kaya had announced her resignation from all her duties in the AKP and from her ministerial position.
In the subsequent process, while it was claimed that Kaya and her husband had returned the money, it was noted that a request had been made to freeze the couple's assets.
