Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, in a written statement regarding the fund investigation, said, "We are pleased that our government is addressing the incident with determination.
We support the decisions taken. In this regard, we stand behind our President and our government.
No opportunity should be given to those who want to create social polarization and economic division by spreading discord through funds," he stated.
Bahçeli included the following statements in his message:
"As is known, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has carried out numerous detentions and arrests as part of the investigation it is conducting into transactions in the capital markets. Economic authorities have assessed the developments as being limited to a specific segment of the fund market, with no risk posed to our financial system. It has been emphasized that the legal process regarding individuals deemed to be involved in market-distorting transactions is ongoing, and that no action will be taken against individuals and companies not involved in these activities.
The Financial Stability Committee has announced that necessary measures, primarily regarding the liquidity needed by the market, have been taken to ensure that these developments do not negatively reflect on the financial system and the real economy.
Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, also stated in his remarks following the cabinet meeting held on September 28, 2026, that the necessary investigations into the fund crisis are being conducted, and emphasized that necessary efforts are being made to prevent a similar problem from occurring again. He firmly expressed that whether through market manipulation, stock market games, or blatant corruption as seen in municipalities, whoever reaches out for the nation's rights, property, or law will face us and the state, and that there will be no hesitation when it comes to the country's economic security and prosperity.
Today (September 29, 2026), following a meeting with relevant economic institutions, the same determination was emphasized in the statement made by President Mr. Erdoğan; it was stated that 'we have no business with those who reach out for the state's or the nation's property, our government is in control of its agenda, we have taken important decisions, and we are addressing the issue with all our institutions.'
Two points stand out in the face of these developments. The first is the continuation of the stability of financial markets, and the second is holding those who resort to market-distorting transactions accountable before the law. Another point is taking the necessary measures to ensure that victims, especially small investors, do not encounter this or similar situations.
The statements made are within a framework that takes these into account.
However, at a time when Turkey is gaining momentum and making progress in the economy, diplomacy, politics, and most importantly, in national unity and integration on the path to a 'terror-free Turkey,' those who want to threaten Turkey's peace are active.
The effort to sabotage the climate where confidence in the Turkish economy is increasing and to turn these developments into a campaign aimed at discrediting the government, especially President Mr. Erdoğan, does not go unnoticed.
The attack process accelerated following Mr. Erdoğan's speech at the 81st United Nations General Assembly, which made us proud as a nation, drew the admiration of the whole world, and defended rights and justice, and the subsequent announcement of his presidential candidacy by the Party spokesperson.
Those who did not raise their voices even when corruption and immorality in municipalities reached extreme levels are now constantly bringing up an issue that is being addressed with determination and where it is stated that necessary measures are being taken to prevent the destabilization of the Turkish economy; this is an open attack attempt against the People's Alliance by disrupting the markets.
Whoever resorts to illegality and reaches out for public property or the rights of orphans must undoubtedly be held accountable before the law.
In the face of these developments;
• We are pleased that our government is addressing the incident with determination. We support the decisions taken. In this regard, we stand behind our President and our government.
• No opportunity should be given to those who want to create social polarization and economic division by spreading discord through funds.
• It must be prevented that this incident turns into an attack and slander against our President and the People's Alliance.
• As we have said repeatedly, there must be a clearing and purification in politics so that no one remains under suspicion, and on the other hand, those responsible must be held accountable before the law.
• The Nationalist Movement Party is determined to protect the rights and laws of our nation to the end. Let our nation be assured, our economy is safe, our institutions are on duty, and there is no need for concern."
