Berat Albayrak forms 'Alliance of the Disgruntled'

It has been alleged that the former Minister of Finance of the AKP and son-in-law of President Erdoğan, Berat Albayrak, has been meeting with former disgruntled members of the party. 

Gazete Pencere columnist Nuray Babacan wrote in her article titled “The AKP’s never-ending ebbs and flows: A son-in-law case” that former Minister of Treasury and Finance and President Erdoğan’s son-in-law, Berat Albayrak, has formed an “alliance of the disgruntled.”

ALBAYRAK IS ABSENT FROM FAMILY GATHERINGS 

Babacan noted the following in her article:

“There are interesting developments regarding the ‘distant’ photograph of the disgruntled son-in-law Berat Albayrak with President Tayyip Erdoğan months later, as well as his efforts to keep the Presidential Government System intact.

It is known that the eldest son-in-law, Berat Albayrak, who has maintained a distant stance in family relations since being removed from his ministerial post, has not attended any of the family gatherings held in Marmaris every holiday for the last 3 years. Let us recall that even though most of the children and grandchildren came together during the Feast of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha), Berat Albayrak was absent again.”

ALBAYRAK FORMS 'ALLIANCE OF THE DISGRUNTLED' WITH FORMER MINISTERS 

Reminding readers of the recently taken family photo, Babacan also reported on Albayrak’s moves within the party:

“Right on top of this, the photograph showing President Tayyip Erdoğan and Berat Albayrak in the same frame raised the question, ‘Are the ice caps melting?’ The Erdoğans, who attended their grandchildren’s graduation ceremony, finally came together with their son-in-law, who was positioned at the end of the frame. This frame also drew attention in AKP lobbies. There are those who claim that Berat Albayrak is waiting in the expectation that the injustice done to him will one day be understood and that he will take part in politics again. It is even being discussed that he has re-established relations with some former ministers with whom he had problems in the past, and has formed an ‘alliance of the disgruntled’…”
