Bilal Erdoğan speaks out on gravestones this time

President Erdoğan's son, Bilal Erdoğan, continues his schedule without slowing down.

Most recently, he attended the final program of the 'Ottoman Turkish Competition in the Footsteps of Cultural Heritage,' organized in cooperation with the Hayrat Foundation and the Ministry of National Education.

In his speech at the event, he stated that young people should have the equipment to read and understand historical texts such as gravestones and manuscripts.

Erdoğan said that young people should be able to read texts written in old scripts, such as Ottoman Turkish. "If someone stood up and said, 'I want to read texts written in old scripts, I want to receive training on this,' it used to pose a problem. Now, thank God, this has normalized. This is our own language, our own texts, our own past, our own history," he said.

Erdoğan emphasized that the protection of cultural heritage is an important part of the understanding of education.
