YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel is speaking at his party's first group meeting in the TBMM for the new legislative year.
Here are the first statements from Özel's speech:
-Those who established the Absolute Nullity and Absolute Sultan Alliance attacked our party. They broke down the doors. They entered with gas bombs and plastic bullets. They attempted to trample on the memory of the great Atatürk. That day, we left the buildings behind us all together and took refuge in our nation and the conscience of our nation. We separated from an outdated, decrepit, and rotten understanding of politics. We left that building carrying Atatürk's legacy on our shoulders. We founded our new party with the instruction of our nation.
-On the day it was founded, we became the main opposition party in this Parliament. On the day it was founded, we became the leading party in the polls. And now, Atatürk's party is unfortunately occupied there in body and physically. However, the legacy of the Gazi and the Republic is entrusted to all of us in your hands and on your shoulders; it is entrusted to the YENİ Party.
-While some could not even poke their noses out of their homes or parties, and the ruling party cadres could not go out to the streets, visit tradesmen, or walk through the markets, our valuable group never left the field for a moment. We were with our nation during the party's founding process.
NUMBER OF MEMBERS EXCEEDED 750 THOUSAND
-As of today, the number of YENİ Party members reached 753 thousand this morning. Our number of members continues to increase rapidly.
-Next are the provincial presidency elections. On October 18, in all 81 provinces, all of our members, that is, the 753 thousand people who became members until yesterday, will vote for the provincial presidency. I state clearly here; we thank all our founding provincial chairmen for their struggle and their efforts during the founding process, and we state here in front of all of Turkey that: Whichever provincial chairman our members appoint in the next election, that is our provincial chairman; the decision is on our heads, and the decision to be made is entrusted to our member themselves.
HE LISTED THE NAMES ONE BY ONE: ERDOĞAN, YOU ARE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE
Now I present this to our nation. The full list of those mentioned in the investigation, according to their detention status and the person who appointed them: Emre Alkin: Tera Board Member, detained. He was appointed to the Presidential Academic Advisory Board by the President himself.
Kerem Alkin: Tera Independent Board Member, detained. He was appointed by Erdoğan as Turkey's Permanent Representative to the OECD; he was appointed to the Wealth Fund and Halkbank management by Erdoğan.
Emre Tezmen: Tera Chairman of the Board, detained. Closely related to Fatma Hanım and her family.
Erkan Kilimci: General Manager of Tera, detained. Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank. He has his signature on the 200 lira banknote; he was appointed by Erdoğan.
Fecir Alptekin: Tera Board Member, Presidential Advisor, Member of the Presidential Culture and Arts Policies Board, appointed with Erdoğan's signature.
Abdulkadir Özkan: Tera Board Member, detained. Chief Advisor to the Prime Ministry, appointed by Erdoğan. He served as Press Consultant for the Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of National Education.
Erdinç Özel: Tera Portfolio Chairman of the Board, AK Party Deputy Chairman of Economic Affairs, appointed by Erdoğan.
Muhammed Yarız: Manager at Pusula Portfolio, detained. Former member of the AK Party Istanbul Youth Branch Board.
Özdemir Ataseven: Özata Chairman of the Board, detained. AK Party Tuzla District Deputy Chairman.
İskender Balcı: Manager at the fund, detained. Son-in-law of Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Osman Çelik.
Now he is doing something like, 'We are not involved in this business.' One should say this to Erdoğan, as he makes such reminders and such insinuations from time to time: Hey Erdoğan! The one who appoints is AK Party, the one appointed is AK Party, the one who robs is AK Party, unfortunately, the one being robbed is also AK Party, and the one seeking justice is YENİ Party! Come on then! You are right in the middle of this, right in the middle.
ACCESS BANS: CALL TO THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
Tayyip Erdoğan sits in the palace in the evening; just as easily as he changes channels with a remote in his hand, just as easily as he turns the television off and on, he shuts down the social media accounts of dissidents. He tells the Head of Cyber Security; they are already more royalist than the king: 'What is this guy talking about, shut down his account!'. 'We shut it down, sir, 10 minutes ago.' 'Well done, well done!'.
Turkey has reached such a point. Tomorrow at 12:00, in front of the Constitutional Court, not by accusing the Constitutional Court but by emphasizing the sensitivity of this issue... we are waiting for all real persons and institutions whose accounts have been restricted, the managers of those institutions, everyone who has applied to the Constitutional Court through various ways with us, and everyone who wants to raise their voice against the access ban and call the Constitutional Court to duty, in front of the Constitutional Court tomorrow at 12:00. Tomorrow, it will not be us there—of course, we will be there as one of those who have an application—but those whose accounts have been blocked and who have been censored will speak there. Basically, our approach is this: In such a major violation of rights by the Constitutional Court... Think about the previous regulation, the one before that, the practices in other countries; for such a thing to happen, there must be a judicial decision. These came step by step. First, the BTK shuts it down, it goes to the judiciary within a day for some reason; now it has reached the point where Tayyip Bey says it, and Cyber Security shuts it down.
