Cevdet Yılmaz and Ahmed Shara meet

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz shared details of the meeting held in Ankara with Syrian President Ahmed Shara and his accompanying delegation in a statement made via social media.

The meeting was also attended by Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Al-Shaibani, Syrian Defense Minister Morhaf Abo Kasra, and Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek.

Yılmaz stated, "We held comprehensive consultations on deepening our economic cooperation in the new era. We evaluated the steps to be taken together for financial and economic reforms and the increase of prosperity in Syria." He also expressed their belief that the transformation taking place in Syria would be crowned with development breakthroughs.

Expressing their expectation that Syria's long-unused potential would be activated with the lifting of sanctions, Yılmaz stated that high growth rates would be reached with the increase in public and private investments.

President of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün and Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Fatih Karahan were also present at the meeting.
