The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had prepared an indictment against 12 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, and CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik, regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention, on charges of "rigging the vote" as regulated in Article 112 of the Law on Political Parties, seeking prison sentences of 1 to 3 years each. The indictment was accepted by the Ankara 26th Criminal Court of First Instance. The date and time of the hearing will be determined after the court prepares the preliminary report.

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made a statement regarding the convention lawsuit.

Speaking to journalist İsmail Küçükkaya, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I will not talk about my party, the party that founded the Republic, in courthouse corridors, and I will not have my party debated in the courthouse. That is why I did not go to give a statement, and I will not go."
