DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan visited the CHP Headquarters to meet with CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.
Babacan will visit İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu next Monday.
Babacan stated that they held discussions primarily on the economy, as well as the CHP's potential visit to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the new Constitution talks.
CHP leader Özel used the following expressions:
"I would like to thank him very much for his valuable visit. He shared his expressions and evaluations within the scope of 3 agenda items. It was an extremely productive meeting that serves as a continuation of the communication that the two parties have maintained until today."
BABACAN'S COMMENT ON SYRIA
DEVA Party leader Babacan spoke as follows:
“Today, we carried out a courtesy visit. We exchanged ideas on 3 topics. The first is the cost-of-living crisis, inflation, financial hardship, and the attempt to implement an economic policy that lacks a social dimension.
Our second topic is refugees, that is, Syria. The President's message regarding a meeting with Assad is extremely valuable. This normalization should take place not only as the government but also in the context of the opposition.
Our third agenda item is the new constitution efforts initiated by Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş. We evaluated that there will be contacts with the CHP on this issue in the coming period.”
