Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'We believe we are far ahead'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu attended the İSKİ Digital Transformation Projects Launch.

Touching upon the projects they carried out over the past 5 years at the launch, İmamoğlu said, 'the metro investments we made were major accomplishments, and we will continue this in the next 5 years as well'.

Highlights from İmamoğlu's remarks are as follows:

EMPHASIS ON INFLATION

“I would like to thank our members of parliament and our senior board members who accompanied our success in this beautiful work where we listened to the details of the digital transformation project. I also thank our Eyüpsultan Mayor who is with us today. What makes me happiest is that our neighborhood heads (muhtars) did not leave us alone here. No matter which district I go to, I always invite the neighborhood head of that region. This is due to our respect for democracy. The past 5 years, especially the pandemic period and the earthquake period, kept the results our country has produced in the economy at a high level due to the intensification of social period difficulties. Of course, the metro investments we made were major accomplishments. There is no 5-year period to compare with the investments we made in the previous term. We believe we are far ahead. We will continue this in the next 5 years as well"

Drawing attention to İSKİ's unit prices in the past period, İmamoğlu stated, "Truly, in the period before us, İSKİ's water unit prices were quite high. High inflation in Turkey also affects our costs"
