First crack in the 'New Path' group! Announces he will not take part in the party: 'My stance will remain the same'

The 'New Path Party,' an umbrella group formed in Parliament by the Felicity Party, DEVA Party, and Future Party, held its first group meeting today. Less than 24 hours after the group's formation, news of a departure has arrived.

Future Party Istanbul MP İsa Mesih Şahin announced that his role as deputy group chairman in the joint parliamentary group they formed with the Felicity Party has ended and that he will not take part in the new group.

'MY STANCE WILL CONTINUE IN THE SAME WAY'

In his statement, Şahin used the following expressions:

"Dear friends, my tenure as the youngest Deputy Group Chairman in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), which I have carried out for 1.5 years, has ended as of today," said Şahin. "Throughout my term, I have tried to carry the trust of our nation in the best way possible. During this process, I have always kept the understanding of constructive opposition at the forefront. I brought all of Turkey's important issues to the parliament. By combining my criticisms with solution proposals, I have endeavored to take steps that will be for the benefit of our country and our nation. I stood by our state on all issues that directly concern our national interests. This effort and stance of mine will continue in the same way."

'I AM NOT IN THE NEW GROUP'

Stating that he will not join the New Path group and will continue to serve in the TBMM as a Future Party MP, Şahin said, "I wish the 'New Path Group,' which was established in the TBMM through the cooperation of three parties in the current process, to be beneficial. As a result of the meetings I held with our Chairman and our party boards, I will not take part in this newly formed group. I will continue to work for our country and our nation with the same passion as on the first day."
