Former AKP figure lashes out at the government: 'Your actions are strengthening the opposition'

Former AKP İzmir MP Hüseyin Kocabıyık, who was expelled from the AKP due to his support for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, continued his criticism of the government on social media. 

This time, criticizing the government over the CHP’s 22nd Extraordinary Congress, Kocabıyık argued that the opposition is gaining strength while the government is weakening.

"YOUR ACTIONS ARE STRENGTHENING THE OPPOSITION"

In a post on his social media account, Kocabıyık criticized the government's strategies, saying, "I have warned my AK Party friends a thousand times: Stop these political games, stop using the judiciary, stop this engineering... Every move you make weakens you and strengthens the opposition." Stating that the plots hatched since March 19 have backfired, Kocabıyık added, "Look, the CHP held its congress today and seated its chairman in his legitimate chair, closing the file."

DREW ATTENTION TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL’S STRENGTH

Drawing attention to Chairman Özgür Özel, who was elected at the CHP’s 22nd Extraordinary Congress, Kocabıyık questioned the government's position against the CHP by asking, "Now a question for you: Is the Özgür Özel of Saturday stronger, or the Özgür Özel of Sunday?"

ONE-MAN POLITICS UNITED THE OPPOSITION

In a subsequent post, Kocabıyık emphasized the effects of the one-man regime, stating, "One-man politics has strengthened and united the opposition, and led to the emergence of a leader like Özgür Özel who breaks through the political barricades placed in front of him." Kocabıyık claimed that one-man rule has further united and strengthened the opposition.

"A CLOSURE CASE COULD BE FILED AGAINST THE CHP"

Suggesting that the government's next move regarding the opposition could be to file a closure case against the CHP, Kocabıyık said, "Now there is only one game left for the one-man regime to play: filing a closure case against the CHP! Let's see if they will commit this madness." Kocabıyık created uncertainty regarding whether the government would take this step against the CHP.
