In the trial concerning the Beylikdüzü era of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, it was entered into the record that the presumption of innocence was being violated because the prosecutor had failed to present an opinion for four consecutive hearings. The judge who recorded this decision was reassigned from Istanbul by a decree of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK).
A new development has occurred in the trial of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu regarding his term as Mayor of Beylikdüzü.
In the case where a prison sentence is being sought for İmamoğlu, the file was reopened despite the Council of State's ruling that there was "no crime." However, the case cannot be concluded because the prosecutor has not yet presented their opinion.
According to the report by Alican Uludağ, after the prosecutor failed to present their opinion for four hearings (most recently at the 4th hearing on April 11), the judge in Büyükçekmece entered into the record that the presumption of innocence was being violated.
However, following this decision, the judge was removed from the İmamoğlu case and assigned to the Diyarbakır Courthouse by the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) decree published on June 20.
