LGS motion rejected in Parliament

Discussions regarding the High School Entrance Exam (LGS) have left their mark on the agenda at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In the General Assembly, which convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker of Parliament Tekin Bingöl, the motion submitted by IYI Party Bursa Deputy Yüksel Selçuk Türkoğlu, which requested an investigation into the allegations of irregularities in the 2025 LGS process, was rejected by the votes of AKP and MHP deputies.

AKP Group Deputy Chairman Muhammet Emin Akbaşoğlu claimed that the IYI Party was spreading disinformation regarding the LGS results. Akbaşoğlu alleged that IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman Turhan Çömez was spreading false information on social media and stated that the public had been informed on this matter.

On the other hand, IYI Party Group Deputy Chairman Turhan Çömez stated that the Minister had not responded to his questions regarding the LGS results. Çömez expressed that he had demanded the details of the exam, in which 719 students received full marks, be disclosed, but that he had received no response.

TENSION IN PARLIAMENT

Following reactions from the AKP benches during Çömez's remarks, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Bingöl gave a 10-minute break to the session. These developments highlighted how heated the discussions on the LGS have been in the TBMM.
