In the Beykoz Municipal Council, 9 council members who were elected from the CHP list in the 2024 Local Administration General Elections resigned from their party and joined the NEW Party. Following the resignations, a NEW Party group was established in the municipal council.
The council meeting held at the municipal service building began under the chairmanship of the 1st Deputy Speaker of the Council, Serkan Şahin. Before moving to the agenda, the resignation petitions submitted to the Council Presidency by the 9 CHP council members were read.
During the meeting, the resignation petition of council clerk Fatih Çelik was also presented to the council. Following the resignations, elections for council clerks and commissions were held under the chairmanship of Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel.
After the completion of the elections, the commission reports on the agenda were voted on. It was decided that the next meeting of the council would be held on Monday, December 7, 2026.
