Claims that Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı, who was elected from the IYI Party, could return to the AKP have begun to circulate in political circles. Following the claims regarding CHP Aydın Metropolitan Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, it has been alleged that IYI Party's Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı could also switch to the AKP.
Arı, who previously served as the AKP's mayor of Nevşehir, resigned from his party in 2022 and joined the IYI Party. Elected as the mayor of Nevşehir from the IYI Party in the 2024 elections, Arı is now on the agenda with the possibility of returning to the AKP, amid changes and developments within his party.
