The wife of the Palace's former number 2 is now in the CHP!

Bedriye Şahinbaş, the former wife of Fuat Oktay, who previously served as Vice President and is currently an AKP Ankara deputy, has joined the Republican People's Party (CHP).

According to a report by Sözcü, Şahinbaş visited CHP Chairman Özgür Özel at his office in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) to receive her party badge. Expressing her feelings, Şahinbaş said, "I am a woman of the Republic founded by Atatürk; my grandfather was also a CHP member, and I am now back at my grandfather's hearth."

The badge-pinning ceremony was held at the TBMM, with CHP Yozgat Provincial Chairman Abdullah Yaşar and well-known farmer Abdullah Ceylan also in attendance. While pinning the badge on Şahinbaş, Özgür Özel stated, "We are honored to see you as a symbol of change and transformation."

Drawing attention to the hopelessness among young people, Şahinbaş remarked, "I have served farmers for years; there can be no hope or prosperity without production. As an engineer raised by the Republic, I am in the right place, at my grandfather's hearth." She also noted that figures such as Latife Hanım, Satı Kadın, and Süyümbike have been her idols since childhood.
