Very harsh 'Bahçeli' statement from Ümit Özdağ: 'He is fighting to get Öcalan out of İmralı'

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli reiterated his call regarding Öcalan at today's parliamentary group meeting. Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ reacted to Bahçeli with harsh words. Özdağ said, "I suggest that Devlet Bahçeli open an MHP district branch in İmralı; one vote is one vote. From now on, you will get the votes you cannot get from the Turkish nation from Öcalan."

Very harsh 'Bahçeli' statement from Ümit Özdağ: 'He is fighting to get Öcalan out of İmralı'

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli reiterated his remarks on Öcalan, which have shifted the balance in politics, at his party's group meeting today, stating: "If the terrorist leader, who was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment, is going to say that terrorism has ended, then let him come to the DEM Group and say it. Let the truth come to light. Let him also benefit from the right to hope. I stand behind my word and I stand behind my proposal. Let the terrorist leader come and declare that terrorism has ended," he said.

'BAHÇELİ IS FIGHTING TO GET ÖCALAN OUT OF İMRALI'

Following Bahçeli's statements, Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ held a press conference and stated the following:

"Bahçeli is working for the release of the terrorist Abdullah Öcalan. Hiding behind a text filled with fancy concepts like the 'Century of Turkey,' he is fighting to get Öcalan out of İmralı.

In short, Bahçeli is clearly advocating for negotiations with Öcalan and the PKK.

Granting the right to hope to Öcalan means taking away the future hope of the Turkish nation. It means taking away the hope for justice from the families of our thousands of martyred soldiers, police officers, prosecutors, and judges.

It means taking away the hope for justice from our veterans who have lost their legs, arms, eyes, or sometimes all of these.

Even if Öcalan says he has disbanded the PKK, many groups within the PKK will reject it, and its Syrian and Iranian branches will continue their actions."

'HAS HE HEARD THAT ATATÜRK INVITED THEM?'

Regarding Bahçeli's call to the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) for PKK leader Öcalan, Özdağ noted:

"It means accepting that Turkey has been defeated by the PKK. Has Bahçeli heard that Atatürk invited Sheikh Said or Seyit Rıza to the TBMM? It is shameful.

Bahçeli says, 'It is the time of the Turk and the Century of Turkey'; are you going to achieve this by releasing Öcalan?

Özdağ directed the following questions to Devlet Bahçeli:

1- In May 2023, you said, 'Many things will change in the coming days, I hope Turkey does not change.' What kind of predicament are you dragging Turkey into that you say such things?

2- A year later, in May 2024, you said 'Turkish Nation.' Then you tried to brush it off by calling it a teleprompter error. Did you make a deal with Öcalan to change the name of our nation?

3- What did Öcalan ask from you in exchange for disbanding the PKK? What did you give him? Do not lie to the Turkish Nation.

'IMRALI DISTRICT BRANCH' PROPOSAL

I suggest that Devlet Bahçeli open an MHP district branch in İmralı; 1 vote is 1 vote. From now on, you will get the votes you cannot get from the Turkish nation from Öcalan."
