Erdoğan visits Anıtkabir: 'We are taking historic steps' message
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Anıtkabir alongside senior state officials ahead of the Supreme Military Council meeting. Erdoğan, who laid a wreath at Atatürk's mausoleum, wrote in the Misak-ı Milli Tower's message book: "We are taking historic steps that will secure the future of our nation."
The Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) will convene today under the chairmanship of President and AKP leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The ceremony was attended by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, National Education Minister Yusuf Tekin, National Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, and Foreign Affairs Minister Hakan Fidan. Force commanders and other members of the state protocol also accompanied the delegation.
WREATH LAID, NATIONAL ANTHEM PERFORMED
At the official ceremony, which began as President Erdoğan took his place at the head of the Lion's Road, a crescent-and-star wreath was laid at the mausoleum. A moment of silence was then observed and the İstiklal Marşı was performed.
Erdoğan proceeded to the mausoleum together with protocol members, had a commemorative photograph taken, and then moved with the delegation to the Misak-ı Milli Tower.
ERDOĞAN EMPHASISES NATIONAL SECURITY AND THE FUTURE
Signing the Anıtkabir Special Register, Erdoğan noted in his message that Türkiye has made significant strides across various fields.
Stating "We are taking steps of a historic nature that will secure the future of our nation across a broad spectrum spanning from security to democracy, from the economy to technology, from the defence industry to foreign policy," Erdoğan underlined that they are advancing resolutely toward the goals of the Türkiye Century.
