YRP's demands from AKP revealed! Here is the behind-the-scenes of the negotiations...
AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala explained the details of the cooperation negotiations with the New Welfare Party (YRP) during a television program he attended. Listing YRP's demands, Ala stated, "We could not reach a consensus in our meetings with the New Welfare Party. Because the places they demanded from us, even in the very first meetings and thereafter, were provinces and metropolitan cities where we already receive over 50 percent of the vote. It was nearly 100 districts..."
As the local elections approach, the tension between the AKP and the New Welfare Party (YRP) continues to rise.
Following the remarks by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan targeting the YRP, similar statements came from AKP Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala.

Stating, "The places they demanded from us, even in the very first meetings and thereafter, were provinces and metropolitan cities where we already receive over 50 percent of the vote," Efkan Ala continued as follows:
"We received 55 percent in Kocaeli. In Sakarya, it was elected with 65 percent. As for districts, İnegöl. It was elected with 65 percent. It was nearly 100 districts. I don't want to go into that much detail. They asked for Kütahya and other places. We acted on a certain understanding during the negotiations. What sense would it make for us to give away a province or district where we have over 50 or 60 percent? No agreement could be reached here. We agreed to disagree. No consensus was reached, and therefore the New Welfare Party is not under the umbrella of the People's Alliance. In some places, in some meetings, some of their candidates are specifically stating this. It is very clear and explicit that the New Welfare Party is not within the People's Alliance."
